Cubs April Minor League All-Star Team

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to post on here. I was hoping to be able to keep up with regularly scheduled posts throughout the course of this season and while I haven’t exactly done that so far, that is still the goal. So we’ll see how that goes moving forward.

If you’ve missed out on some of the Minor League action so far, I have actually been posting on a very regular schedule over at Cubs Insider. Each Monday, I bring you the Weekly Farm Report where I break down everything that went down throughout the system over the course of the previous week. Records, important stats, promotions, all the goods.

I might be a few days late here, but it’s still the first few days of May and that means it’s a good time to go over the landscape of the Cubs Minor League system over the first month of the season. And the best way to do that: April All-Star team.

Each month I’m going to be putting together a 25-man roster based off of the best performances over the month prior. It’s fun to look at who has been the hottest and over the course of the month, potentially vying for a promotion to the next level.

Now, with this being a true 25-man roster, some big time performers will be left out. The second best shortstop statistically might be the fifth best hitter, but he will still get left off this team. Sometimes life just isn’t fair.
