We should be watching young catcher Miguel Amaya take the field for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies on a daily basis, but instead you can enjoy some highlights from his 2019 campaign. Amaya put up a slash line of .236/.351/.404 while playing for the Class-A Advanced Myrtle Beach Pelicans last year, and cemented himself among the top 4 prospects in the Cubs sytem.
Now a member of the Cubs 40-man roster, the expectation for Amaya heading into the 2020 season was to spend a majority of the year in Tennessee before potentially earning a promotion to the Triple-A level. He is on track to make his way to Chicago during the 2021 season.
